Default Vintage Trans Am style racing with a pro touring twist

Anyone else wonder about the ability to race a vintage muscle car on the road course but do it with the benefits of all the modern suspension and drivetrain parts available due to pro touring?

Well you can. I wrote a blog post featuring the Vintage Auto Racing Association 2016 GTO class champion FFR Cobra.

Normally Vintage racing series requires that you only use performance parts available when our cars were originally raced. However, VARA has opened up their GTO class to those American Muscle cars that have too many mods for the traditional class. i think that's pretty cool.

The article linked above has more info about VARA and some cool video of the Cobra mixing it up with first gen Camaros and Mustangs.

Not talked about in the article is the NASA American Iron class that is more restrictive but could still be a home for a car with many of the pro touring goodies on it.
