Goodguys 2013 AutoCross Finals Shootout Presented by BFGoodrich Tires.

Goodguys 2013 AutoCross Finals Shootout will be held at the 16th Southwest Nationals event in Scottsdale AZ on November 15-17, 2013. This will be the first time Goodguys has a yearend shootout with prize money and national bragging rights for the winner. Below is information on how you can be part of the AutoCross Shootout.

There will be a total of 24 cars with 24 drivers for the finals shootout.

Three ways to get into the Finals are; be the fastest at a National event, be in the top of the PRO class or race your way in at AZ.

1. The fastest time of the event classes by Saturday for each of the eleven National events before November 2013 will automatically be entered into the finals. At the time of the competition ending the fastest time winner will be asked if he or she wants to be in the finals. The car that they are driving will be the car they must drive in the finals. If they do not want to be part of the finals or if they do not want to drive the car of that event they can decline. The next eligible fastest time will then get the invite and must go through the same Final process. They must then sign the AutoCross Finals Shootout Agreement stating that they will take part in the shootout with the car they ran at the event. If someone is the fast time at more than one event the next fastest time eligible will be entered so we have eleven entries from the events. Once a car and or driver are in the Finals that driver and car cannot get into the finals a second time.

2. We will have the top nine from the PRO class that are not already entered into the finals to increase the field to twenty cars. This will be combined points of all classes to get the top nine. The nine will need to drive a car they received points with during the season for the Finals Shootout. They can also decline and we will take the next eligible racer to fill the field to twenty car.

3. Four spots will be open for someone to run fast time at Scottsdale on Friday to get into the field, we will take the top four times that are eligible to make a twenty-four car field for Saturdays action packed shootout. Friday will be reserved for the top 20 to practice and for fast cars to race their way into the finals.

The top twenty cars will get a free entry for their car and two weekend people passes to the event in Scottsdale. Goodguys will be paying the top four places of the Shootout, 1st $3000.00 2nd $1250.00 3rd $500.00 and 4th $250.00. BF Goodrich will also have Gift Certificates for a set of tires to the top four racers. There will be a feature in the Goodguys Gazette on the winner of the Finals and a Billet Award presented during the awards on Sunday. The winner will also receive the following: A Snap-On Tool Box (Valued at $7000.00) with the AutoCross Logo and become one of the Goodguys Terrific Twelve of the year winners at Scottsdale. This event maybe filmed for later broadcast.

The format for the event will be as follows: Friday there will be twenty pit spots for the people already in the finals and they will run with anyone trying to race into the finals. Friday we will take the top four not already in, to set the twenty-four car field for Saturday. Saturday from 9am to noon we will let the twenty-four cars run as many laps as they want to get their fastest time for qualifying for the Shootout. At 1:30pm we will start the elimations on a 24 car PRO ladder. By the end of the day we will have the winner of the first Goodguys AutoCross Shootout presented by BFGoodrich Tires.
