I've done it on mine, its not easy but its also not rocket science.

Here and nastyz28.com were my go to sites during my swap. LS1tech.com has ALOT of LS info as well...

Here in the Bay Area, going rates for a basic LS swap (no tranny, or rear end work) is 9500 to 11500, includes engine in most cases. I'm at 9500 for a wrecked LS1 (GTO) parts and only partial labor, a friend helped me and i saved about 1/2 the labor....fyi
