Default Dodge w150 wheel/tire for handling

Ok guys so I have a 88 w150 single cab short bed with a ls swap. I was looking at 20x12 -44 or 22x12 -44 and a 33/35 in mud tire for resell. But I decided on putting serious miles on this for a while and want the best "performance". I spend a lot of time at 80+ mph(Texas interstates) and the truck is only about 3700lbs. What's the best wheel and tire size combo to hold the road? It also rains quite a bit here. I'd image a thinner sidewall and wider offset and tire should help? I'm open to anything. I have been looking at toyo proxes and nitto 420 for tires.

It does surprisingly well for what it is and that was even before the entire suspension rebuild. I know it's not a race car but I would like to be able to take a couple corners or run it past 100mph when I'm out in the boonies. I'm also concerned on what the offset will do for handling. Unfortunately google is a mess now.
