Default 1971 Corvette Convertible LS1/4L60E

Item Location (City/State):Carlos, MN

Price:$27,900

Description:1971 Corvette Convertible

Decided to make the tough call and sell our Corvette. I bought it painted. It's a green metallic Dodge truck color selected by the previous owner. It has a few flaws. Paint chip near the drivers door lock. Small stress crack on the passenger fender near the door. Most people don't notice. Better than drivers quality but not true show quality. I have an exact paint sample for touch up.

The previous owner did a "cosmetic" restoration. They did a new dash pad. New top. New door panels. New windshield. Side glass looks to be original as it has the "Astro Ventilation" logo. The side glass needs to be adjusted to the new weather strips. I stripped out the old carpet. Added Dyna mat type insulation with foil back insulation from the fire wall to the rear compartment. DEI foil reflective type insulation in the trans tuunel. New carpet. Rear compartment carpet although could be installed better. New three door rear compartment. New seat covers. The door courtesy light switches don't work but they can be turned on by the head light switch. When I pulled the kick panels there was only surface rust by the body bolts on either side. The frame had some surface rust that cleaned up nicely. Looks to be new front and rear bumpers from the previous owner. Front grilles are in nice shape. New lower plastic front spoiler.

Aftermarket 14" steering wheel. Stock 15" included.

All new Auto Meter Sport Comp gauges. Shift Works 4L60E shifter conversion. Retro Sound AM-FM with dash and kick panel speakers.

I pulled the out SBC/400 turbo and completely degreased the engine compartment, frame and under side of the car. Repainted all of it satin black.

All new brakes, rotors, stainless brake lines, Stainless flex brake lines.
All new ball joints, tie rod ends, a-arm bushings and sway bar links.
Spreader bar up front.

Howell Fuel injection harness and computer.

New offset trailing arms. Completely rebuilt trailing arm bearing. New stainless E-brakes and cables.

Rear end rebuilt with new bearings. 3:70 gears. Rebuilt posi. VBP adjustable strut rods.

Miata head light motor conversion. Works great.

Crate LS1 from Pace Performance. Rebuilt 4L60E from Jake's in TX.
LS6 intake. Tune by Frost Tunes. 2200 stall converter. Fbody accessories. Alternator, PS pump and water pump are new. Ceramic coated headers. 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with band clamps for ease of disassembly if needed. Dyno Max turbo mufflers.

New taillight lenses. New marker and front turn signal lenses.

New gas tank and sender. Bosch 044 external fuel pump with C5 FPR. -6 steel braided fuel lines.

Borgesen steering box swap.

Griffin dual pass radiator. 16" Spal fan. Runs nice and cool.

New u-joints throughout. VBP front springs. VBP composite rear spring. Bilstein shocks front and rear. Rides firm but doesn't beat you to death.

18x8 Torque Thrust II all around. 255 rear and 245 fronts.

I have all receipts.

The car goes down the road nice and straight. Stops well. No strange rattles. Hand the keys to anyone. I put about 3000 mile on the car over the last two summers.

Pics to follow. PM or call me with any questions. 320 266 7531.

After the drive today in the fall colors the Corvette is off the market. My new project will have to wait.

Thanks for the interest.
