Default New Motor for the Mustang

Having Elliot at Mustang Corral build me a new motor for the Mustang...we're also going to change over to EFI and fuel system. (intank pump, baffles etc)

New Combo:
410 cubic inch Windsor Engine
Dart S.H.P. block 4.125 bore
Scat 3.850 x 4.125 rotating assembly
A.F.R 205 Aluminum heads
Solid flat-tapped cam and lifters
5/16 hardened push-rods
Competition cams roller rocker arms
Melling select H.V. oil pump
Victor Jr. Intake Manifold
A.R.P. bolts
Mcleod 10 inch twin disc clutch/flywheel assembly

Old Motor coming out: I'll be reusing the distributor and pan.

Now the rush is on to get it back together before Shelby Mini-Nats

i'm not sure what i'm going to do with the old setup, maybe keep it as a spare..

I'm going to send it by my local machine shop to have it freshened up at some point. It's not a bad motor it made 350 RWHP at 5500 RPM and I spun it to 6100 so i'm sure its a 370 ish RWHP motor. Why you interested?

I'm always interested in used Ford parts. Concentrate on the new motor and keep me posted on the old.

I've got one on the wife's car and have no issues with clearance. Valve covers clear fine and just take a bit of routing to get them out, the distributor is close but removing the cap makes R&I a lot easier.

I think Ford and the aftermarket have different height distributors, probably best to call Mike. I know he'll make the bars to any angle needed.

Mine came powdercoated.

Mine also came powdercoated... no issue with the valve covers going in our out but the distributor is tight but it works. I've got a MSD pro setup.

Some motor pulling fun!

I got the motor with the car and didn't know much about it other than it being a 351...i think it had a flat cam from the start as it should have been a "healthier" motor so to speak.

This motor has the right components to be a good motor so it will also take a trip to the machine shop.

I just dropped of the car at Mike's Maier and we're going to pulling the shock towers and covert over to 67 towers. So while the motor is being built a little extra work up front is going to take place.

Mike Maier Inc now sell a DYI shock tower brace so you can get the clearances you want and have the same pick up points.
