wanted to know how the fiberglass to metal holds up over time.iv been doing bodywork for 30+yrs and when i was starting out ,i was always told to never do it use glass resin.i have bonded glass parts to metal using 3m bonding adhesive with great success in the past and not a combination of both.can you explain the process so i can understand?great work on the car!

This was the first time I have done this. I have worked on cars that had rust repair done in the past using fiberglass mat. One was over ten years old and was in a wreck and you could not tell that it had rust cut out and replaced with fiberglass mat until we started grinding on it. I have always done it like you have but after being in the sun all day I have seen a line where the end caps we bonded on my Mustang.
