Beautiful wheels! It must be so nice to get most of the parts before they're needed. I love these FJ's

Nice! What’s the difference in weight from the original engine?

Default Update on the rest

Ok, back to the 73' LS

Down to bare chassis

Full tear down of diffs, all new seals/bearings on the way ... including some 'nice' new brakes. Everything is getting sand blasted and base/cleared black

Doing a 60/80 series Box conversion ... supposedly give the best driving/steering feel

Tore down the NV4500 for a full rebuild and repaint

I figured the motor weight would be close, but I didn't think the new one would be lighter. Seeing the HP/TQ on the 2F it's amazing the power the Land Cruiser has. My 72 with almost 200,000 on it could tear down buildings, the snow would be rolling over the hood and it kept going.

The steering on the newer ones like your were much improver over the early one after they removed the steering pivot point on the front frame. Is it a leather gasket on the front steering knuckle on the diff?
Both are going to be great builds.

Sheck44 I can't believe you waited more than a month to open that crate! I realize you said it initially wasn't at your place but crate engines don't show up for me every day. I would have had greasy paw prints and drool all over it from day one even if I had to leave work early to do it!

You have far more self control than I do. Do fresh chocolate chip cookies go bad at your house too?

LOL ... Not a chance !!!

Ok, off to Buffalo tomorrow to pick up all the Axel/diff parts and some other cool stuff. We should have a roller then in no time at which point we can install the drivetrain

Pics coming
