Default LSA in a Chevelle, looking for ideas on intercooler tank

I am dropping a LSA into a 71 Chevelle, and I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate an intercooler tank under the hood. The LSA normally doesn't use one, but I would like the extra capacity and ability to add ice if/when the car goes to the drag strip.

As of now, the battery is still in the factory location. It probably won't move to the trunk, since there is a pretty elaborate stereo setup in there. I was thinking about fabbing a tray behind the driver side headlight and running a Canton tank made for a battery tray. This idea, however, takes up most of the room that the air intake tube is going to go.

Has anyone done this swap that would be willing to share pictures? If it just plain doesn't work out, I can run it the way they do in the gen 5 ZL1 without the tank, but I would really like one if possible.
