Default TKO, unable to mount to Bell Housing

I just spent all day trying to install my TKO 600 to my LS3 engine. I'm using an LS "621" Bell Housing and I could not get the input shaft to line up in the Pilot Bushing for nothing. Anyone have any ideas ???

Just had this with a Mcleod set up, twin disc and one disc was backwards. May be the same thing.

Thx for the reply. I'm not sure what the hell the problem is. McLeod flywheel ram clutch. I can't seat the trans to the Bell Housing. Wondering if this BH is that much out.

if everything is correct. we draw them in with the bolts. I know your not supposed to do it that way but all the ones that we've installed over the yeas have been done that way. just go slow. never had a ear break. btw.

I guess we should start with the simple stuff. You using a clutch alignment tool? Plastic or metal? Mechanical linkage? I had to depress the clutch a bit to get the input shaft to seat properly.

Just read through, and knew that was BAD advice!

Have you done a measurement of the OD of the input shaft and ID of the pilot bearing? Your sure the auto hub for the converter isn't still in the crank?! Have you slid the clutch on the input shaft to verify it slides easily and doesn't bind? For high rev or fast shift applications, before I install a unit, I usually apply a little valve lapping compound on the input spline of the transmission and then work the clutch back and forth to ensure it rides freely with no burs or nicks you can't see. Clean all of the compound off before reassembly.

Thanks for the reply. Pilot bushing appears to be correct. Auto hub ? This is a brand new LS3. Oh boy, I never noticed an auto hub ?? I just installed the pilot bushing after removing the flexplate.
