John,
Awesome thread. So much good information. As for the glue dots, we concerned about how well they would stand up to vibration, shock and heat. So we tested them in the worst possible scenario: A 42 Foot race boat with two dozen gauges. It was pounding in and out of the water and baking in the sun. The "Dots" did not fail. No one bezel came loose or fell off. They are amazing. Pressure activated semi-hardened silicone.

If you still have doubts, you can always attach them with clear liquid silicone. But then the bezels will never come off-unless you use gasoline or some other solvent.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I would think your test method proves the dots work. The marine environment is pretty harsh and under race conditions it's only worse. If a part is going to fail it is there.
