Depending on your overall look/style, I would go chev orange. I tried to attatch a pic here...

I think this looks REALLY cool for an older vette or shoebox. Making it look "oem" with a twist.

I decided to do the block and the valve covers in Chevy Orange.

Just a bit of overspray to clean off the front cover.

Valve covers primed.

Coated in Chevy Orange a few times.

With the valve covers loose installed.

With the coil packs.

Turned out great I think.

I painted mine chevy orange a few months back. I still have a ways to go. I am going to order a weiland cast intake. Check out Carl Casanova's orange LSx w/ a magnacharger, it is killer.

Here is mine:

Depends on the rest of the car and it's "purpose"... a show car should probably have a matching block to the paint scheme... a street driver - the black the Jody suggested... and to me (personal preference) I'd only ever do chevy orange on a 100% "restoration" if that was the original color.

My buddies black 56 - has a BBC painted a beautiful RED... and with the black inner fenders and billet --- the red really livens up the engine compartment... and is "kinda" like the orange...

So ---- like Todd said -- it depends...

What pulley and bracket kit is that? looks nice!!

I believe it's a MARCH setup.... I'm in Calif tonight -- on my way to RTTC so can't ask him... but will - and if it's NOT a March I'll post it up.

It's a Street & Performance serpentine kit. That's what I have on my 6.0 LS. Not installed yet. I plan on powdercoating mine black.
