Default '69 Camaro kickpanel speakers - how deep?

I've been thinking of installing some speakers in the kickpanels in the Camaro but i don't know how deep the speakers can be.. Does anyone know that?

Default depth

It is not as much the depth as it is the width. Pull your driver's side kick panel off, about a 2 minute job and take a look. Unless you space the speaker (5 1/4 but must be very shallow) out to keep the basket from hitting the sides, a 4 inch works best. I used a JL Audio VR 4 inch.

If you are running a vitage air unit then you can build enclosures like on the Mule and run 6.5

Default

Not very deep at all. I went through this during the summer. Ricks makes the speaker enclosures but they stick out from the normal kick panel a few inches and I didnt like the look of that. But you need to get a shallow speaker if you want it to fit. I dont know the depth in inches, but there is not alot of room.
