Default 1969 camaro with LT1 question

Hey guys newbie here with alternator wiring question.Bought a 69 camaro with a lt1 out of a 1995 trans am and using wiring harness out of the trans am also,lot of the wiring was already done, now i'm on the alternator,the alternator has a red wire coming of the stud in back which i'm almost positive this goes to 12v power source(attach to battery)but the wire I'm confused on is the single red wire going to the plug in back,not sure where this goes in the harnes it was cut are broke about 6in's from plug.Any ideas guy's, any help would be a great help.Great web site by the way.THANKS AGAIN!
