So called "Billet Aluminum" is nothing special all it means is that the part was made from one piece. You could machine 6061 Al on any metal working lathe or milling machine. The thing I don’t get is people fell in love with the word billet form The term "Billet Wheels" which would imply the wheels are made from one piece but every one I have ever seen is actually a weldment. Its funny where we get these sayings from.

I feel the same way. We don't ask for a "billet" 2x4 at the lumber yard.
Now that I type this I remember, alot of 2x4's are finger jointed together now.
Never mind.

customcam,
What size pipe are you trying to cap? Do you want it to fit on the inside, or over the outside?

What's the pipe material? And how are the caps going to be attached to the pipe?
