If it makes you feel better, my truck's water pump gave up yesterday (no towing was involved). It'll cost me nearly $60.00 to fix. Dang it.
Not sure yet. But I wanna maybe try to make Sonoma this weekend. We'll see.

Glad you made it home at least before the water pump failed.

Hopefully it’s an easy cylinder swap or TOB....if not, it may be time to swap the SB2 and dog box.
After no issues 1st session it just wouldn't shift from 5 to 4 going into T1. Or any gear after that - while running - for that matter.

7 total laps for the day....

Hopefully something minor.... as I sat on the shoulder of T2 waiting for the tow I did think to myself.... "you do have a trans not doing anything right now..."

...and thankfully you have a ‘crack’ staff already in place to fix your muttmobile.

It had an ARE dry sump system. My first time at Laguna ever I ran a 1:35.5 with it... my buddy who built the car ran a 1:33 flat and said there was a lot more left. Also broke the GSR dogbox by not fully engaging reverse and sheared the teeth off it... We ended up tearing down the box at the track.... cleaned it up... removed reverse and ran it another couple sessions.

Sadly after running the 1:35.5 a couple laps later the bolt from the dry sump pump walked off... allowed the pulley to move... which then made the belt fall off.... so I seized the motor. That was an expensive day! Cameron Rogers now campaigns the car in TTU I believe. It's gray now....

Wow! That thing is an evil little bastard. Must be a hoot to scream around in.

Low to mid 1:30's ... that is haulin the mail at Laguna. And I am sure all of my "fast" friends who think they are fast could beat that. They know who they are.

a Tilton 5.5 inch triple disc is apparently not a pro touring clutch.

One mustn't fail to mention the smoky burnout (going uphill) on the trailer--that's pro-trailering. Clutches love this.

Both those RX7’s sound like wicked little cars, nice job Mark.

Dave, you’re ruining the pedigree of that car...

I just want to make sure you know they sell replacement ckutches. You don’t need to rebuild the WHOLE car.
