The Roadster Shop has developed the first true performance chassis system for 64-70 Ford Mustangs. This Fast Track Chassis offers a full frame design narrowed to accommodate up to a 10” wide front and a 12” rear wheel. The fully boxed frame rails are made from CNC cut, 10 Gage steel for maximum strength and rigidity. The problematic factory shock towers are eliminated giving you the freedom to run a traditional Ford engine or the newer Modular Motors. The Fast Track IFS will provide awesome performance and handling on the street and the auto-cross. Over 75 individual components such as heavy duty upper & lower control arms, power rack& pinion, billet aluminum steering arms, Afco coilovers, and race inspired splined sway bars will insure the modern ride quality you desire. The Rear suspension comes standard with a heavy duty parallel 4-link, adjustable Afco coilovers, Ford 9” rear-end, and 31 spline axles.
The Fast Track Chassis utilizes the stock body mounts, bumper mounts, and core support location for easy installation. The frame rails are designed to follow the stock floor and trunk allowing ample head room and the stock gas tank location.
The install on these does require removing the torque boxes and a channel in the floor on each side next to the pinch weld.
I guess the best way of saying it is the level of difficulty really depends on your experience. While it is not a 'bolt on' chassis, it is relatively straightforward for a weld in application. Probably the trickiest and most time consuming part is actually removing the existing torque boxes.
