Is this the event that always used to be called Chevy Vettefest?

This is what was posted on another forum:
Thanks for the post.

My name is Bob Ashton, and I am the Managing Member/Co-Owner of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals.

Thought I would chime in to let everyone know what we are all about.

I am a FORMER Show Manager for Championship Auto Shows, Inc. the owners of the Chevy Vettefest and various World of Wheels show. I DO NOT work for them and I am not affiliated with them in any way now!

I have launched this show as a Mixed Make show with an emphasis on Muscle Cars of ALL makes. We also welcome the best Corvettes, as many of those are Muscle Cars also, along with some prime collector cars.

The response from the Ford community has been absolutely outstanding.

One of our special displays is the "Shelby Snakepit", which is being coordinated by Colin Comer. In this display we have four "real" Cobra's, including the Prototype 427 Street Cobra and a matching 289, both in black, a GT40, the 67 Super Snake and a 66 GT350 Drag car from the Richard Ellis collection, a 1 of 36 GT 350R Racer and several others.

Rich and Peg Campbell will be joining us with their amazing Boss 302, formerly owned by the Chrysler Corporation and we have an ultra low mile Boss 429 in our "Class of 69" display, along with a 428 CJ Cyclone and a 428 CJ Cougar.

For those who like the newer models, we have several "New Breed" Shelby Mustangs and several tastefully modded late models.

I would Love to have as many high quality Ford and Mercury muscle cars as possible, and welcome those of you who may be considering joining us to sign up. We are close to capacity, so if interested please let me know asap!

If you are considering joining us as a spectator, I assure you, this IS NOT the Chevy Vettefest!

You will see plenty of Chevy's and Corvettes, (including 9 real L-88s) and a huge Nickey Chicago vs. Mr. Norms display, along with some Buicks, Oldsmobiles, lots of Pontiacs and even some AMC's.

This show is for anyone who appreciates quality Muscle Cars and we will have well over 400 on the show floor along with close to 300 swap space, ALL automotive. (no bedsheets or travel agencies here!)

If anyone needs more information, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or call me personally anytime at (586) 549-5291.

This show is produced by myself and a group of well respected car collectors who are devoted to producing the very best show that the Chicago area has ever seen.

Our website is www.mcacn.com for more information and pictures of some of the cars that have signed up. Over 100 additional entry photos will be added over the weekend.

Thanks for allowing me to post! I always welcome ANY suggestions, comments or idea's.

(steps off the soapbox)

Marty and I were supposed to meet up, but schedules did not allow!!!

Stefano, this was an AWESOME show, with some INCREDIBLE rare cars in attendance. I got to meet Charley Lillard......definately a very cool car guy, and his 1100 mile '70 RS/Z28 was an absolute museum piece
