We should all take pride in knowing that this community of car folks is doing what we can to help Greg become "less rich", one project at a time. I'm not sure what can be done about the prick part - -- -- - - - we may actually be making that worse!

Yep, and I thought you two would have seen Eye to Eye. There can't be much in it.

Only if you promise to leave Curtis home!

BTW - Only broken bone(s) I've ever had... summer of 1980 while moving into a new house the neighbor girls (about 7 years old) were skating in the street and I kept telling them "wait til I unpack my skates...". When I did - I made it down the driveway and into the street and made part of a turn before I broke my ankle in 3 places. Her Dad had to take me to the Bronxville hospital because we didn't even know where a hospital was.

Went to her wedding... and we're still friends with the parents after all these years.

Not a summer home Lenie -- our home - period. Sold the Bellevue place in May (it was on the market for 2 hours). This will be our one and only. We're really not into second homes. I'd rather go all over the place than "have" to go because you own somewhere else.

Lenie -- I forgot to answer your question about why not build the shop on site.

We invested heavily in Architect fees etc to do just that - and in the end - when the work went to bid - the shop being on site under the house - added too much cost vs value... So I just bought the commercial building in this thread (for about 1/3rd the cost of having it under the house.

While the lot for the house is 1.6 acres -- the building envelope is actually only 18,000 square feet... and much of it is just too steep to get access to. The fire department has say so over such things. They will not allow more than 10% grade... and the driveway must be 20' wide for fire truck access - and once we try to get up to where a shop would be --- the cost of moving dirt is just absolutely prohibitive. The soils here are described as "cleetchy" and are not suitable to use elsewhere - so they must be hauled off site. We are already moving 20,000 cubic yards of material - that's 2000 dump truck loads - and they calculate "truck miles" to be 46,000 miles of round trips to dump the soil. I'm not adding to that bill!!! Stick a fork in me - I'm done!! LOL
