well a good way to go with a head unit is a Pioneer. I've had really good luck with pioneers so far. My buddy has a DEH-7600MP head unit and it gets really loud without any distortion. he has pioneer front door speakers and jvc rear 6x9's. What you wanna do with amps is get one for your door speakers (just a 4 channel or 2 channel, whatever tickles your pickle) and for the subs find a good monoblock amplifier. Jake (my friend) has a Rockford Fosgate T5002 amplifier for his subs, powering 2 kicker CVR 12's. the amp puts out over 750 watts rms at 2 ohms, and 1050 watts rms at 1 ohm bridged. he now has 2 kicker 15" L5's running at 1 ohm a piece (subs are dual 2 ohm voice coils). they're really really loud. If you want any help with figuring out any wiring email him [email protected] or talk to him on aim: mulletsofmayhem . he knows how to wire pretty much anything, and he can give you advice on what kinda subs to buy and what not

btw: Jake can get you anything at cost really. His whole system retails at just over $2,000 , he got it all for just under $1,000 . His best friend owns 3 shops in Houston here. so let him know if you need anything.

If you have an iPod you can use Alpines headunits that has connection for iPod. Pioneer and Clarion will come with iPod connections later this year.

To have an iPod connection makes it easy to manage your music collection on your computer and iTunes.

Yeah the Ipods are the big thing at college...but not me. I dont see the point in spending 400$ on one of those. I do patch into the Ipod networks to get music though, but just for my computer.
Few of my friends have the Ipod hook ups to the stereo, some of them have wireless pick ups for the radio if the Ipod is in the car.
Just not my style.

Thanks Again Guys
