Default Speaking of Paint, question on grill fitting.

I am having the outside edge of my standard 69 grill painted body color. To save me some money and time, I took the grill off myself and the shop is painting it. However, it wasnt easy to get off. I took off the bumper and all the fasteners...but those two frame extensions that stick out to hold the bumper are in the way of sliding it out. I had to kinda push it up and over them to get the grill out.

The problem wasnt really getting it out, its once its nice and painted...getting it back in without a scartch or chip! Is there a magic trick to this or something?? I dont want to have to get it in with as much persuation as I got it out.

Thanks
Tim
