Question 63 Nova big block?

My dad & I are wanting to plant a 454 in his 63 Nova. It has stock shock towers, mini front subframe, subframe connectors, etc. My question is: what headers can we use or does anyone know of who makes them? Anyone on here done this swap or can give me any info/pics?

Thanks, Clint

im pretty sure the shock towers have to get notched to run a BBC, and all of them i have seen ran fenderwell headers. i havent personally attempted it...so it is all just speculation.

you have to notch the towers and they do make headers that go under like standard, but it is really really tight!-

I've done it.
Check out my web page for detailed pics.
Hooker fenderwell Headers would be the most economical header.
You will need to modify quite bit as I've tried to show on the web page.
But.... it CAN be done.

Super nice Nova. Love the whole package you've got there. One question, & I know the answer already... How hard is it to change the spark plugs? Also are you running headers by Hooker that are something readily available or custom made? Thanks!!!

Actually not bad.
Easily accessible from underneath the car.
#2 cylinder was tight to the shock tower so i had to make a socket.
Took a standard spark plug socket and cut about 1/2 off so it can get on and then i used an open end wrench to "crack it" off then took it out by hand. The other 7 were easy.
The headers were Hooker Super Comp fenderwells.
They were modified slightly so that the "lower" stance didnt make the tires rub.
