Default 69 chin spoiler brackets

I am replacing my front spoiler. The old one
had no brackets, so it was flimsy. I got the brackets with the new one and I
understand how it all works except for the middle bracket. It's 15
or so inches long round bar with flattened ends with holes for the bolts. Here's the delema, One end is bent at an (45degree?) angle and the other end is straight. Which end attaches to the spoiler and what does the other end attach to? The only thing above it appears to be the fan shroud.

Absolutely! Do you know if that is the correct location, or if it just happens to work there? The way the rod is shaped it looks like that would work perfectly. Thanks, Sandro!

That is the same thing I had to do on my 69 when I had it. I just assumed that the car did not have the hole because it was originally a 6 cylinder car. Just went out and checked the 67. It is the same.

Thanks guys, that should help! I wasn't able to work on it last night but I should be able to tonight. Mine was originally a V8 car, but maybe it didn't have a spoiler.
