Default 1967 Camaro Z/28 With Lots Of Goodies

This week, we're checking out Charley Lillard's '67 Z/28 shot at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals http://www.mcacn.com a couple weeks ago. It's a neat car with lots of extras, including head rests, shoulder belts, gauges, fold down rear seat... and an experimental aluminum small block under the hood! Learn how it got there in this video.

Very rare Z28. And the motor is very interesting as well. Only 602 Z28s were built in 67? Chime in if Im wrong. He also has a 1100 mile original Z28! A true benchmark car.

Great stuff as always Charlie and Kevin when you two collaborate.

What a history on that Z and those '0-' goodies now under the hood.

Thanks guys, it is a cool car. Another one that we could have spent hours going over. It was nice of Charley to spend some time with us on it.

Was Steve Pardini's 68 Z/28 there? That's the one that does it for me. I still remember that black 68 RS Z for sale way back when at the Cal Expo in the " olden days ".
I guess I'm dating myself....but, I know a thing or 2 about GENI Z/28 Camaros, I sold Chuck Hanson his 68 RS numbers matching 302 but I had to look long and hard for that cowl plenum air cleaner. That 68 had a hard life, radiused rear wheel wells for slicks and a 5.13 Zoom gear set to get that 302 down Fremont Drag Strip
Commissioning the reproduction of the 2X4bbl Xram air cleaners made me a good side income for a while before my metal guy started selling them on the side...probably should have put a cease and desist order out on that but Darell was a good guy to me in getting those air cleaners done.
You want to see a great collection of early Z/28s look up Dr Milton Kim in Hawaii sometime, he has the 69 JL-8 Z/28 with the V-75 liquid tire chain option I saw back in about 1979 at Laguna Seca. I think that car was special ordered by an Edelbrock sales rep.....that is one BADASS rare option Z/28.
