Default Just bought my paint..Holy Cow!!!$$$$$

I am taking next week off work to bust the camaro in shape and go to paint. I have always used Dupont in the past but have dabbled in some ICI and others. Got turned on to a local supplier that does ICI & PPG. He hooked me up with some PPG base/clear, primer, sealer, and some misc items.

$1,200 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God for Visa....it is EVERYWHERE my car needs to be!

Had I gone straight ICI it would have been 1/3 or so more. The main red color on the car is $135 a quart with three quarts to do the trick.

This stuff mixes different than what I am use to so I have to read up on the product data lables.

Going to use the same paint booth that Radrambler will be using.

You should see how expensive some of the paints from House of Kolors are. Ever price out chromolusion paint?

It is my understanding that red is the most expensive of the non-metalic, non-candy paints. I have further heard that this is because the redder (redder, is that a word?) anyway, the redder the red, the more real gold is in the pigments used. I don't know if it's true, but my MasterCard seems to think so!
