Right now I have a Sparco adapter already on the column. Can I run the Gen 2 off of that adapter? Is the NRG release base 6 bolt pattern the same as the steering wheel 6 bolt pattern?

What I want to do is run the release between the wheel and boot.

I ordred a regular QR but its mounted on the lower 3 bolt side. No bueno to use.
Damn Vince. This car looks all business. I like it!

great idea... I like the ability to pop it off and get under the dash a lot easier

Sieg...is that the narrow version? On their website it looks like the Gen 1.0....

Just ordered a few and should be in on friday. I'll post a few pictures of the install.
I'll be interested in taking a look at this. James has the Tekniq release on the OLC car and it's a very nice unit and super tight.

What I don't like is that it requires two hands to release it.

While a release can serve as a security aid and can add convenience in cockpit maintenance it's real purpose is to aid egress in the event of something awful happening. One handed release is IMO a big part of that.

Mine is the Gen 2.5 and the Short Hub.

It's a real luxury to pop the wheel off to access under the dash after all these years. Beats a Club for theft protection too.

The NGR is definitely a 2-hand release. I love it for removing for work in/under the dash area, and when I had to leave the car parked outside, I removed it and took it into my hotel room with me.

For my height, the steering wheel being a little further away from the pedals helps as well, but if it were 1/2" or so shorter it might be ideal. Regardless, it's a high quality piece that I really am glad i purchased...

No slop at all, very solid feel.

I think for a street driven car, you really want the 2-hand release mechanism also. While highly unlikely, the last thing you want is to somehow accidentally release the wheel while rolling down the road...

A friend had that happen at Sears Point during the Jim Davis Memorial Drags in his 9.05 second '39 Chev Coupe at about 2/3 track.........he manage to get it back on and just nicked the wall in the process. Pretty exciting run. The car typically ran arrow straight, we couldn't figure out what the heck was going on. The drivers story was nothing short of hilarious.

I can almost pop it with one have but im 50% Hawaiian and I can husk and crack a coconut with one hand. LOL

But the way I look at it, you use two hands to pull a wheel off anyways. Your wheel holding hand can push the release button and the other pulls the slide up.
It can be done. Practice

No slop is good to hear. Its a copy of the Works and I was wondering if it was inferior.

So do i buy the Gen 2.5 and a hub adaptor or ?

How do we know the splines are compatible with our stock columns?

Getting ready to pull the trigger....

Gen 2.5 and a short hub. Hub has the splines, release bolts to hub. Worked on my 1st Gen stock column. https://getnrg.com/products/quick-re...t-hub/srk-170h

Same for my 2nd gen. I bought mine from a company in Dallas (cannot remember the name at the moment), but I called them and confirmed the specific hub before ordering. All went together just time, and I'm still really happy with it. Not the cheapest setup, but definitely quality.
