Default 1955 BelAir finish at GAP Racing

This car came in as someone's street/strip car. It already had a ladder bar rear suspension and a roll cage in it. The plan was to ditch the 468 Big Block, add a lot more power, a lot more tire and clean the car up.

Here is what we started with

The customer really liked the flames and the graphics on the side and did not want to redo the paint either.

We quickly ripped it apart

The guys over at Houston Engine and Balancing put together a really strong 598 Cubic inch motor that put out over 920 Horses.

We also installed a set of Heidts Stainless A-Arms, Wilwood master cylinder and started building a custom set of headers

On the inside, we re-tubbed the back of the car to make room for much larger wheels and tires. We also got rid of the wood panels that had been covered in carpet and made some out of aluminum.

We also welded up the old holes in the dash, modified and repainted the dash to make room for the Autometer Cobalt Gauges

We ended up added ac vents and a billet control to the center of the dash for the Vintage Air we installed also.

New Fabricated 9" installed. New Coil Overs, Ladder bars, and also built a custom side exit exhaust that we had coated black to blend in.

We ended up adding more bracing to the ladder bar/shock brackets.
