They got back on things here this week. I believe we got about 5" of rain, so the excavator had to pull off for a week. Looks like site prep will be done this week and should be ready for concrete towards the end of next week.

Wow! That's a lot of dirt work. Will you need any sort of retaining wall on the slope side to keep it from sliding down the hill?

That will get top soiled and seeded for wild grass. The pit run has so much rock in it already around the edges, it should prove to be solid as hell

The whole time they were excavating at our house —- I kept thinking how much I was on the hook for and I hadn’t even pounded a 2 X 4 together yet...... LOL

Do you now have to let that sit for a certain period — or are they able to compact it to code or whatever requirement??

It's compacted. They were running dump trucks @ 80,000 lbs and it did not move. They did a tremendous job!

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, the concrete contractor kinda screwed me. He took another job and then the winter set in here in northern WI.

The site is all prepped and ready to go. It will work out for the best letting the site go through a frost cycle besides all of the rain and snow load to help settle. Patiently waiting.......................
