Default Pinned throttle

I was going to put this in the "Ken crashing again" thread but figured it was better off here.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gjyINdn0Fn8

This was a few years back and I can still remember watching it thinking I was watching a buddy on his final pass. Eric was knocked out and the throttle was pinned until it ran out of fuel. He wears a full funny car suit and boots even though his class requirements don't require them....good thing that day!

The car was a loss and he was banged up but he's back at it with another car, faster and safer than before.
Remember, the rules for these events are only the minimums.

Wow and wow. That is so scary to watch. Can't imagine being there.

You are exactly right.... you can't spend TOO much on safety equipment if you are doing stuff like this.

I googled that accident after watching the vid yesterday. Found more info on it including a comment that the racepack data acquisition system recorded the impact to the wall at 11g's... wow.

And this is drag racing. My biggest fear was always no brakes at the end of the straightaway doing 120. Yeehaaw
