Default 1/2 inch Fuel line and Sending Unit

Hello,

I'm looking for some help on how to modify my Gas tank Sending Unit. I have run 1/2 inch Hard Fuel line from the Tank to the Fuel pump. However I realized that the Sending Unit I purchased a while back is only 3/8.

Here is a picture of the sending Unit.

My questions are:
1) What would be the best way to modify the Unit to 1/2 inch?
2) this may be a stupid question but I'm guessing that I need to do the modification or the 1/2 inch fuel line is useless?
3) Can you buy a sending unit that is 1/2 inch? I’ve looked at the normal restro places. Original parts group, NPD, Year one etc. and didn’t see one.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated
Thank you
Chris

Also, The car is a 72 SS Chevelle, 468 big block.

Default Take you new sending unit

pull/cut /drill the 3/8 line out and have someone weld in a 1/2 line and fitting. If you run a good fuel filter you will not need the "sock" on the end.

I would think you would want a short piece of flexable hose between the tank and the hard line to prevent cracking of the tube.

Chris did one and I have it in my tool box. If I can remember, I will pull it out and shoot some pics.

How about something simple like a barb to -8 AN fitting? Can you make something like that work?
