Default New guy with 80 Z28 project

New to the board and wanted to say Hey...

Recently picked up a 1980 Z28. Was originally going to go all out drag car like the Trans Am I had to sell last year... but decided to do a pro-touring car this time around. Here are some pics of it now and the wheels I'm thinking of going with...

My current part of the project includes rebuilding the entrire suspension... have done all of the tie rod ends and drag link. Control arms and lowering springs just came in and so did the Calvert leaf springs/traction bars... should be a busy weekend!

Looks like a good base to work with, those wheels will look killer, too.

Thumbs up

Very nice. Pete & Brian have a GORGEOUS '81 Z28 pro-tour in the shop right now. Got a 572 crate motor that is carb'ed right now, but going to fuel injection. I do believe Pete said over 630 horses or so, roll cage, mini tubbed, Wilwoods all the way around, KILLER silver paint, Global West suspension. The car is NASTY!!!
Good luck with your build.

Thanks all! Gonna be awhile till its where I want it, but it should be a fun project... Started on the rear suspension this afternoon - had to cut most of the bolts off and the springs are broken in several places. Should be a big difference with the new ones on!
