Default Newbie w/ a G-body

Hi guys. I been lurking on this site for a long time and decided to sign up and shoot the sh8t with yall. lol I been in the car scene for awhile and my car is still the first car I owned. Its a 1984 Monte 427ci SBC, TH400, 9" rear end, and 10pt roll cage with full interior. I've been drag racing it ever since I put on a K&N filter. Now its time for a change, I'll be transforming it into a "street fighter". I'll still be taking it to the track, but like to have that clean modern look going down the drag strip. I hope to have some new wheels/tires by winter and hit the car shows by next year.

-Mark

Killer car man!! Very nice indeed! What is your plan as far as changes? To make it more of a street car and handle a bit better in the corners? You are off to a great start with that car.

Well, Im building on a budget. As far as changes go... not much. But later down the road I like to switch from nitrous to a turbo or supercharger. It's really up in the air right now. First thing is first, I need some wheels. lol

Look up in the members list above JayR. He is a designer and also has a really nice line of wheels. The prices are reasonable and there is alot of options for color and sizing. Rushforthwheels.com is his web site. I think you'll like what you find there. (actually there is a link in the sponsor column to the left side of the screen here right above the Vintage Air link)

Bowtie,

I see you on Montecarloss.com all the time. I've seen you out at Little River before, I live in Lampasas, if you know where that is. The Monte looks sweet, I got some good 17" wheel sizes from Bernie(sickspeed) if you want them? I'm also building a street fighter.. Andy

70rs- Thanks, that will help me out big time to talk to someone who knows his stuff. There's so many wheels out there, its really hard to pick one design and size. I think I narrow it down to 18's. I have yet to see bigger rims on a g-body that will actually look good and function as they should. I plan on taking the car with the "street fighter" look and running some low 10's in the 1/4. hehehe

Andy- whats up neighbor... I live near you in Leander (north of Austin). Lol Did Bernie sell his wheels? I'm striving to make my car be like Bernie's, his car is awesome. Thanks, but I'm planning to run 18's all around. Next time you see me at little river you should come by and say hello. See you around MCSS or here.

MexMan- your signature says it all! Thanks man.

No, I still have my wheels

Welcome Mark, you'r car will be sick as hell with the pro-touring treatment.

And since I know Mark is being too humble to post this himself...
