Default Project TimeWarpF100 45yrs in the Making...

Thought I would share the build of Project TimeWarpf100

This is a dream truck from a "Dream" that will be 45yrs old tomorrow when my dad pulled into the driveway with a brand new 1966 F100! Even though I was only 8yrs old It was love at first look...

In 1978 I bought a 1967 Mercury Capri with a Factory 425hp 427 & a 4spd with only 12k miles on the clock. It was then I thought some day I want a BRAND NEW 1966 F100 powered by a Dual Quad 427 Side Oiler.

Since tomorrow is 45yrs to the day when I fell in love with the 66 F100 body style, I thought it would be as good of a time as any to share my build of it.

This started out a a very very nice unmolested Arizona Short Bed Custom cab in a very rare Orange/White 2-tone.

Once it was torn down it was time to make carts for the cab and box to make moving them around and blasting etc a bit easier

I made the carts stackable for blasting & Painting. The box cart will also serve as an engine run stand.

A trial fit of engine and trans prior to blasting and powdercoating of frame.

Any chance you’ve done a 2.7 without taking all the other drivetrain and electronics with it? I have watched your YouTube videos many times!

I started on the 2.7 Swap into the 1966 F-100 4x4 Christmas time but so much else to get done. Doing a major cab off, full engine rebuild, new transmission, big brake upgrade, new suspension on a '01 Lightning. Once its done I will get back on the 2.7 Swap. Hopefully by end of this month.

I will be using very minimal Electronics in the 2.7 Swap. Enough to make it drive but plan on using the Electronic Locking Diff, the electronic park brake and the 4x4 of course. I may add cruise control but it will be a pretty basic swap. Hoping it to be a daily driver and will be used as a truck.

I currently have Seven (7) different 1966 Trucks in various stages and the garage is so packed with junk and truck parts its hard to get anything done.

Way too much for a one man band old guy . .

I post mostly on Instagram under ecoboostf100

At minimum you will need PCM, BCM & ignition /keys along with engine and transmission wiring. One can use a aftermarket or OEM instrument cluster. Oem one can be modified to fit about anything.

Of course one can have the PATS turned off.

If interested I would consider selling my 2.7 conversion. Just too many irons in the fire. The 2.7 is in truck and I have had it running. It was meant to be just engine and transmission and maybe keep the TPMS. Rest would remain as is.
