Default Track Day / HPDE Insurance

I know Hagerty and Lockton Affinity offer track day insurance. Does anyone recommend any other companies? It seems the premium for 3 days of coverage is about 1-1.5% of the car's value with a deductible of 10% of the car's value.

Knock on wood you'll never need it, but what are everyone's thoughts on the topic with all the high dollar cars running around the track?

To me, it depends on the track and the group you're running with.

IMHO, the biggest risk to balling up your car is someone with a shoddily built 'Hoonagan' car oiling or watering down the track and not getting flagged in time.

If you're running with a bunch of OEM and lightly modded sportscars, low risk. If you're running will all sorts of shade tree builds, much higher risk.

The question to ask, given the 10% deductible, is what sort of impact could you have that costs more than say $10k to fix? If you've got a good cage and the track has good runoffs, it's pretty hard to do $10k of damage unless you roll the car.

Default Insurance

Last time I looked into track insurance they had three
things that would not allow me to use their insurance

No groups without a point by.. I run in open group with no point by
usually better drivers and less chance of an issue

No roll cage in the car.. have one so that does not work

No Dot road race tires... that is what I run and also mostly
on the street with the one car
