The A6's will wear quicker than R6's, but when you factor in all the cost to go run a track day, it's minor compared to having 22% more "fun."

That's the reason I suggested A6's for Greg's Hot Rod.

Guys forget about what the actual cost is for me to run a track day weekend in California... that's a roughly 1500 mile round trip in "the rig"... so fuel down and back is $1000 just in truck fuel.

Two cars with two drivers - entry fees another $1000

Race gas = $600ish

Cheeseballs = $5

Ron Sutton = PRICELESS

Tires are just consumables... ditto brakes. While they're not giving these away... they ARE just all part of the fun. Fun, to me, means being able to go out and run @ 80 or 90% and be able to KEEP UP with the pack. I don't have the DNA (anymore) that says I have to lead the pack... I just want to go out and run and keep up, and pass some guys, while others pass me.

These weekends are made SPECIAL by seeing my friends... dishing crap... (that's free).... LEARNING.... which to me is always important. If I hoover (or should this be changed to HOOSIER?) thru an extra set of tires and pads - so be it.

I reserve the right to change my game plan at any time - in order to be in front of your sorry boat anchor <lest I never live it down>.

Please hurry! I've had 5 more birthdays since your motor was dyno'd... Remember! Change your oil ANNUALLY if letting a motor sit. And rotate it by hand so that the valve springs aren't taking a set. If you plan to let the motor sit for more than a few months (already past due!) back all the rockers off to allow the springs to be free.

Default Sonoma

Ron thanks for the info on the tires
I started in the auto crossing world and changed
over about 12 years ago with Chet's mustang
(My old car) then went to the Pantera

I had custom alignment set the mustang up and
just drove it. Very easy car to run as it would go
anywhere on the track

The Pantera took a little while to dial in and
is not as easy to drive and I am sure could
be better but still not bad for a street car

Somebody had to complete the quote: "I unfriend you." There. It's very specifically contextual, so if you don't get it, watch more TV.
