So I ran into a big problem with my rear bumper. When I put a second coat of paint on the whole thing wrinkled up. So after lots of primer, wet sanding, paint, and clear I'm finally close to done. I've already went over it with 1000g wet sanding. Now to 2500 and 3000 so I can wax it and make my mold.

On the dash side of things I picked up my HVAC controls and power window switches and got all that stuff fit up. With that done I was able to shoot it black, coat some epoxy, and lay some carbon. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get the first coat of epoxy on it so I can trim the edges Monday.

AJ ... just an fyi, you can actually take apart and paint or powder coat the Dakota Digital controller outside aluminum trim ring black to match the rest of your switches, I know I did it and it looked great

Cheers
Steve

I planned on it. I find it odd that they don't offer it in black. was it just the two side screws holding it together or do I need to peel off the silver tape on top and bottom?

Slowly getting some stuff done. Sucks not having a garage at home to work on my car. On my center console I got it coated with another coat of epoxy and then sanded down and the large holes trimmed out. I need to order some more epoxy so I can get it finished and off to the body shop for some clear coat.

I've also been working on my rear bumper. Had a issue with some paint that caused some wrinkling up and had to basically sand it all down and start over. It took some time, but it came out pretty nice. With that all fixed I attached some plexi to the back, built a dam, and applied some partall and then some PVA. Monday I'm hoping to start putting down tooling gelcoat and fiberglass mat. This is my first venture into mold making so hoping for the best.

Lastly Ben has been working on my interior rendering. This is where we're at so far. I'm pretty happy with how its coming along thus far.

Sorry the pictures are sideways again. They are fine on my computer, but turn once uploaded.

AJ ... I figured you were going too. Yes, it is the 2 screws and I believe if I remember correctly I had to peel the metal tape off and then re-used it once I was finished. Pretty easy...

Interior design looks FANTASTIC btw !

Cheers

Ben finished up the interior render with some changes I was looking for. I like the simple clean look. I may add some of the red piping back in, we'll see when I get closer to that point if my taste changes any.

It was fun working with you on this AJ, I enjoyed the challenge considering all the structural changes. In the end I think it'll really stand out and catch some attention, fitting nicely with the overall theme for whole the car.

Looking forward to seeing it all come together over the next while. Good luck and keep the updates coming!
