Default Building a Rolls Royce racecar with a 2nd gen camaro subframe

So. I'm building a car for the 24 hours of lemons series. I did one last month and got hooked.

From my understanding there was a team in NH that ran a Rolls Royce silver shadow and it was so slow they were asked to not come back. I sent an email to the organizers with plans for what I wanted to build and they were OK with it.

The car I'm starting with is a 1977 Silver Shadow II

Plans for the car are:

Gutting as much of the car as possible
Adding a pedal box with conventional brakes & hydraulic clutch master cylinder
2nd Gen camaro front subframe & Suspension
Stock rear suspension - not sure on rear brakes/knuckles
Iron 5.3L engine with T56
The car is almost 5k lbs, but hoping after its all gutted it will be not a pig - it does have all aluminum body panels.

Since the car shared many parts with GM I understand a 2nd gen camaro front subframe should be made to work relatively easy, and I plan on using that front suspension system.

For those familiar with Lemons, they don't like to see fancy suspension or aftermarket race parts so I'm trying to keep everything as OEM looking as possible. Front suspension setup I have planned so far is:

Brakes are excluded and I already have C6 Z06 front brakes using the KORE3 brackets on a B body spindle
Stock uppers with delrin bushings
Stock lowers with delrin bushings
Stock spring/shock configuration - not sure what kind to run yet
AGR steering box

One question I have is about how well the stock rear suspension should work in this car? I will have to do something different for the shock/spring setup, but wondering how a trailing arm suspension like this works on the track. Even though it is all heavy, its all super heavy duty so I hope it works. Final drive is 3.08

Looking for ideas, thoughts, and criticisms. This is my first track car I'll be building!

There was a Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II on Hot Rod Power Tour this year. Mark Caro (guy who built it) is out of Maryland. It had a 2nd Gen front suspension, LQ4 with a Turbo making around 600rwhp. He had fabricated a new rear suspension.

Here's my pictures of the car:

Ha!

That is the guy I found who mentioned a 2nd gen camaro subframe will work in the car on that youtube video. I have been researching ways of getting a hold of him to ask a few questions, but have not had any luck!

Yeah, nice guy. I'm sure he would help, if you can get a hold of him. I believe he owns a shop in Maryland. I'll see if I can dig up contact info.

Awesome! That would help a ton. Finding any info on these cars is super tough.

I would suggest a 6.0 for that kind of weight. A 5.3 will be pickup-truck slow.

Build has started!

Just arrived off the truck

Vinyl top removed

Getting dissasembled at my salvage yard.

Some speedholes in the floor.

Rear full floater axles with a single WOODRUFF key, not splines...

Front Brakes

2nd Gen Suspension. I need to cut the mounts off the RR subframe and weld onto the camaro one.

I mean If i'm going through the trouble of swapping something in....might as well right??? I was planning on doing a 5.3L LS, but that's so boring.

The rules used to be that the car couldn't cost more than 500.00 except for safety items. Has that changed ?
