Default GOAT Kart tube frame

I’ve been building this car for about 3 years. Started life as a 2004 Gto and has now been reduced to the fire wall section of floor pan and section of roof. Car weighs 2500lbs and is making 525hp to the wheels.

All tube frame construction fabricated by me. Fully tig welded and braced.

Turbo LS motor
T56
C5 front suspension components
Gto rear IRS

I’m in the process of collecting metal shaping tooling now to start making some panels for it. Long term I’d like to build a custom body for it.

I'd wrap some classic sheet metal over that cage.

I’m planning for old school Italian styling. Still learning more complex sheet metal skills.

I’m teaching myself metal shaping. I’m always trying to continue building my skill sets. Custom body panels is on that list.

Jim, seriously, how could you ask? You have calf-fryer pipes on your bitchin' Camaro. He has made better lines with tubing than the GTO had with sheet metal. This dude is living out his imagination in the best way!

.....Paul......my suggestion.......
Drive the sh!te out of this one and start a new project that NEEDS panels ...... But it's perfect as-is.

However, have to agree that the GTO was pretty tame .... And kbuchhalter has an imagination that seems boundless.

BTW.... my "calf-fryers" are surprisingly cool to touch...hotdogs in a #16 rolled sleeve with only 1/8" gap.....I thought I'd be burning flesh to the ankle bones every day too, not so.
