Default First AutoCross Shakedown

After two years of working on the car, I finally managed to get it on course in March. The car did reasonably well, but most importantly I had an opportunity to really see what is and what is not sorted with the car (Mainly the brakes).

Event was the Spring Warm Up through the Vancouver Motorsport Club in B.C.

Nothing too crazy

302 mated the original Top Loader 4 Speed

9 inch with Strange Axles

4 Wheel Disc Brakes, Grenada Up Front (i think - i did not install them and they are not very good), Wilwoods in the rear (Hopefully Wilwood on all 4 soon)

Roll Bar, Maier Racing Subframe Connectors, Fuel cell with full return stand alone system, All new wiring via Painless (Best investment yet), 1969 recovered seats, RCI Harnesses.

Did this run on BFGoodrich Sport Comp 2's, they worked great.

Excellent! I'm glad to hear you liked the Sport Comps, it's the same tire I went with because of the sizing...not a lot available in a 16".

B.C. isn't that far from me, not sure if I'm allowed up there though....shoot me message if you ever get down this way for an event.

I actually found my car in Renton!

I just immigrated to the U.S from Vancouver this year, living in Bellingham now.

This Mustang reminds me of the car they used to use to advertise the Pro-Motorsports negative wedge kits--this was pre-Dr. Gas. They used the fastback to sell "1g+ handling." Cool car!

Thanks! I was pretty far down the list for the day but I managed to shave about 9 seconds off my times. My biggest issue was lack of confidence in my rag tag brakes. I was braking way early on several of the high speed entry corners. Biggest success, still able to drive the car 40 miles home after the event.
