This sounds like a good reason to escape a wedding early . . .

You guys are killing me.. no gears, no brakes, no hood
If I was smart I would just load up that funny looking Black car
and head south

Do eet! Vegas was great, thanks for asking! I'm so thankful that my car continues to perform at a competitive level while still being reliable enough that I was able to drive all the way there and back (about 600 miles round trip) and run every second of every event allowable. It dawned on me as I headed out to the 5th session of the road course late on Sunday that there were only 6 or so of the 18 cars in my run group left and hear I am pushing the car and driving for all I'm worth and in 2 hours I need it to get me 300 miles home. Even though I didn't improve that 5th sessions I hung the ass end out around some corners and had a smile on my face the whole time.

Competition wise, despite loving the event I couldn't help but feel a little frustrated with my results. Saturday was the fastest and biggest autocross I've seen at an Optima and is the just the type of course I normally do well on but I couldn't get it together. Sunday I told my wife I didn't podium anything and she was lightly encouraging me to leave right after my final road course session as it would get me on the road 1-2 hours faster. I told her I had to stay for the awards even if I didn't win anything as it was the right thing to do and I had friends I expected to see recognized. So it was a big surprise to find out a managed 3rd in class on the road course and 3rd overall in GTV.

Unlike Thunderhill I didn't have video problems so I will be positing up a video of each of my best runs in my thread sometime this week with an event summary.

Sounds like you are driving the wheels off of the car
Third is not bad for the group you run in and your results
at Thunderhill were great from what I saw

Keep at it as it inspires all of us to get going
I am hoping to get most of my little things done
on my car for Crows the middle of next month
Then hopefully sort the car and me....been trying
to leave the Pantera out of it as it delays getting
my Firebird done

Glad your car is doing what you want and from
what I see you are really getting things dialed in

Bob

Way to go Chad. That reliability and the way you're using the car is the epitome of pro-touring in my mind. Is it the fastest out there, maybe, maybe not. But it's competitive and you're driving it there and back! Winner in my book.
