So long as you can grind and weld a bit, it should work decently with the 8 or 9-inch rear. The design has changed a bit since I put one on an old version of my Falcon in 2011 or so, but the frame rail dimensions are the same . . .

I couldn't find any head-on pictures on my presently available laptop (in hotel right now), but the pic here shows the frame underneath the car.

Call Mike Maier Inc in Livermore (not maier racing). He has one that will fit quite well. It is specifically for the 63 Falcon. It is not on his web site so you will need to call him.

Thanks guys! I’ll make the call tomorrow. I have an 8.8 under the car now with 31 spline axles & Cobra diff. Now, My only conundrum is that now my new dual exhaust will have to be modified...again.

On a totally different note, my wife ordered me a new set of interior door & rear panels for Christmas. They showed up yesterday and they are much nicer than the current ones. I went with black because I think it’ll help break up all the red. I’m also going to recover the rear hatrack in Black.

Hey Craig,

Thanks for the heads up. I called and talked to Mike today and am ordering one. Sounds like he has a radical Falcon build coming in tomorrow! I can’t wait to see some info on that one.

Good deal. Are you still using 2” wide springs?

Hey Craig, Yes, it still has the 2” leaf springs. I beat on Mike trying to get him to build me a new pair. . Mine currently has some “Cal-Tec” style traction bars and a wonky looking 1/2” swaybar and some coil’ish over style shocks on it. I ordered the panhard bar, new bilstein shocks and some 1” drop blocks...after talking with Mike again tonight.

I’ll be losing the wonky shocks & swaybar after a long discussion that was way over my head about inside tire load “tech stuff, tech stuff, tech stuff”. He has nothing but great stuff to say about you.

Good for you, dude. You're jumping into the deep end now . . . You will be stunned at what those parts will do to the way your car reacts to steering and cornering inputs. The only negative is that you may find yourself clamoring to make the front (steering/handling qualities) catch up. Mike and Craig are authorities, so you're getting the best advice!

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of . I already have a 2016 GT350 and a 2016 Miata Club (with a pic of the latest family member) for all that. The Falcoon is meant to be a cruiser...time will tell.

Already got the new rear suspension parts from Mike. One hiccup, but he’s going to remedy it. I have a feeling Craig knows the problem . It won’t prevent me from getting the majority of it all installed.
