Default South American Chevelle, painted!

Hi all!

Greetings from Venezuela! My 71 Chevelle Malibu is already painted (It still needs to be polished). Color is 2007 Toyota´s "Paria" Blue (Paria is a region of Venezuela, at Sucre State, where Venezuelan Toyotas are made). Due to a lot of office work I have to wait a while to resume the work on the car, but thank´s God the way is shorter now.

Some facts: ZZ4, TH700 w/Trans Pack and Horseshoe shifter conversion kit, Ceramicoated Hedman Hedders, Chromed Brake Pump and Booster, Chromed Valvecovers, 750 cfm Holley 4160, MSD 6AL ignition module, Autometer gages, Global West front upper arms, Hotchkis rear arms, Hotchkis coil springs, SSBC rear disc brakes, Grant steering wheel, Pioneer stereo, Cragar SS 17 rims, Cowl hood, whole new sheetmetal.

By the way, this ride has no personality odds: No SS stripes, sweep dash... It´s a Malibu, period!

The picture with installed tires is quite bad, cause the car got dusted again and I was too hurried to wash it, but I wanted to see it standing alone with the paint. Soon I´ll post better pictures.

Best regards!

Ivan

Looks like a cool project.

Be sure to get us shots of that blue outside. Bet it looks killer in the sun.

Cool, thanks for the update.

How hard is it getting parts for a Chevelle in South America?

Hi! Thanks for your interest!

If you need mechanical parts for Musclecars in Venezuela, is very easy to find them, because we have a long tradition making and driving american cars. The two main car assembly plants in our country (since 1948) are GM and Ford ones. Then, we have a Toyota, a Mitsubishi, and a Mack trucks assembly plants. Here we make many of the steel black rims that equip your cars once they go out from your plants! So, if you need any part for engines, transmissions, suspension, etc., surely you´ll find it.

In the other hand, is very hard to find body parts for musclecars, unless you find a parts car. For that reason, we import the body parts we need, which increases their price, more because of the shipping costs than for the taxes.

Before you ask: Fuel is 4 cts/lt, 17 cts./gal, but would you buy a 50,000.00 dollars Ford Fusion? that´s it´s price here (Bs. 120.000,00)!

Greetings from Venezuela!

Great fuel prices down there! Not so sure about the new car pricing though!
