Default Dumbest thing anyone has ever said to you about your car?

I love cars, I love people willing to talk about cars, I love the fact that I can drive something that effects someone enough to approach a complete stranger and ask questions. All that being said, you do have a few people who are unbelievably bold and ignorant. So, what is the dumbest thing anyone has said to you about your car?

A few examples from myself:

At the local drugstore:

Idiot: Cool car, what year is it?
Me: 69 camaro
Idiot: Are you sure? It looks like a mustang?
Me: Nope, it is a 69 camaro, see the emblem on the front?
Idiot: Well, those can be changed.
Me: Yeah, I guess your right, I better go check the title again.

Or another

Idiot: Camaro right?
Me: yep, 69
Idiot: Cool, I had a 64 when I was younger.
Me: Are you sure it was a camaro, they didn't start making those until 1967.
Idiot: Nope, I am positive, 64 camaro, They started in 64, not 67, Don't you know anything about cars?
Me: Oh, I am sorry, I will try and read up on them some more.

I am never mean or condescending, I just find it funny how sure people are of themselves. Anyone have any others? Hopefully I am not the only one.

Darren

Default The dumbest and unexpected Question

When I was 17 I had a 69 Z/28 . That was 1972 . I got a recall on the car to put the stop lift cable on the engine. I went to my Chevy dealer and was giving the servise manager the information. Then he asked Me What engine do you have in it? I say 302. He says What? I say it again He says 307 ? I say 302. He says we don't make a 302 . I argue with him for about 20 minutes. Finnally he say s I'll bet you my pay this is not a 302. I said yes it is your on. He calls the head mechanic and says what engine is in the Z/28 he says 302. I said keep your money I'll take a set of factory headers. I never got the headers but he did have the body shop detail the car for me .

We are in IOWA at the GOODGUYS show right now and someone just told me I have a 1967 Chevy Tahoe not a Blazer. I was not aware that the Tahoe was out in that year. I better do some follow up

This kid was convinced that the little 302 in my 1978 Granada was a big block. Couldn't do much to tell him otherwise, so what the hell?

An idiot insisted that I put a 283 into the Camaro because he had a car with a 283 that ran strong.

Thats funny, I always get, "Nice Gran National!"

My ex's brother always swore that I had a 350 big block too.

Chris,

How about last year at Columbus when the lady said you couldn't park your "TAHOE" there when the air bag blew. She just didn't want to hear that you stopped right there on the thru-way. Not to mention she was just another spectator! LOL. Some people.

I get Why isn't your car finished? What's so hard about it?

I got the "I had a '66 Camaro that I restored and sold recently." I told him he should have kept it cause those are realllllly rare.

"Nice Mustang", then wanted to argue about it when I tried to explain it was a Camaro...
