Hi Vin,

For the MS series of connector you are looking at (MS27656T13F35S or P, which is actually a MIL-C-38999 Series connector) - check here.

http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/pro...sp?SKU=91C3824

Open the Data Sheet link at the bottom of the page and look on page 3 of the PDF doc (page 117 of the Cannon catalog lower right corner) for the different configs of that connector that are available. I'm not sure how many wire connects you need - and the gage for each required, but if you scan through you should be able to find the one that matches your needs and pick that part number.

See catalog page 132 for the contact arrangements

See catalog page 134 for the pin part numbers for the wire gage you want (looks like 12 is largest they go for pins/sockets in this product line).

Looks like most of the S or P bodies are about 50 bucks. Then you will need a 'backshell' for both sides.

Hit Newark with the part numbers and you'll see their on-line prices.

Here's one of my current vendors on connectors:

Here's another source. The virtual catalog that can be accessed on the catalog tab appears to be more detailed than the Newark one.

Don and Jim
Thanks for your time good info but I have more ?s. When I buy 91C3824 from Newark do I get a male and female connector or do I need two part numbers.
When I order pins do I order Mil-C-39029/58 or /56 and whats with the color bands. What back shell do I get type P or f and they don't have 90 listed. And what are the numbers under the contact arrangement.
thanks again Vin

I'm also looking for a bulkhead connector like this.
I'll need to pass 32 or so 18 gauge wires.

The milspec stuff is real difficult to understand. There is a huge variety...lol.

Each part is ordered separately. bulkhead receptacle, plug, inserts, seals, male and female pins, all separate.

This website has a lot of good stuff, including a 30 pin weatherpack complete kit, but they don't give dimensions, it looks kida big.

What solutions have others used?
I REALLY do not want to hardwire my EFI harness through a grommet.

Jim, I will agree with you on the no grommet thing, but for the price of the big mill-spec connectors and the rediculous amount of studying to even figure out what you need, I was looking around on Summit and found somthing called "Seals-It". It is a grommet, and it is a very good grommet. I ordered a one for a fuel line to go out of the trunk and under the car, one for the battery cable to come out of the trunk and under the car, used another for the main battery supply to the electrical box inside the car from the starter motor, then used the last one on the big harness from the LS1 engine to the computer inside the car.

The one for the harness is a two piece design. You can get it in various sizes, but the one I needed, they didn't have, so I simply ordered a blank one with no hole.....I made my own to fit 76 wires and the insulation thru it. I made the custom block off plate on it as well. It looks good and I think it's going to work pretty well too.

Here is a pic........

Hope this helps out someone,

Joe

I've seen those, Joe, and they do look nice, for a grommet, but I want a connection. Seems everytime I touch a weatherpack connector, I break off the locking tab! Also seems like the motor is out of this car once a year...
Car is a keeper, and a driver.
I wanna just unplug it. Engine harness stays on the engine!

I've come across those grommets before, or something very similar. There's a pretty big variety of sizes and styles. I found the link in my favorites, enjoy!
