Default 1970 Camaro LSA BUILD

Thought I would start a new thread on my next project, a 1970 Camaro RS. The car is pretty rust free/ solid. Nothing real special, the car currently has a 350 from a 74 Z/28 and a 10 bolt Posi. Finished my 69 last year and really have the itch to jump into something else. Learned a lot from the last build and will probably go "all-in" with the suspension this time around. My 69 has a Chris Alston 4-link and warmed over stock sub-frame. Still trying to sort the handling / suspension out....like driving a go-cart!

I'll be going all DSE front and rear on this build, LSA and a 4L80e trans., nicer wheels, big brakes, etc, etc....Convinced my wife that I am building it for her, hence the auto trans.....

Let the fun begin!

In for the progress! We're sure this will turn out pretty darn good based of the looks of your other car!

Sounds like a cool build. Is your 69 synergy green? Looks good.

Can't wait to dig into it...my 69 is not Synergy Green....my painter picked a green base coat/ clear coat from the BASF chart..... I think it's about as close to Synergy Green as you can get without doing a Tri-coat.

Thanks..... Starting to gather up my parts....mini tubs and Quadra Link should be here soon.....from the sounds of it, DSE can't make the stuff fast enough Wanted to throw out a question early on as it relates to the drive train. I'm putting in a LSA (warmed over a bit) with a 4L80e. My thought is that the LSA motor will have gobs of torque and I could get away with using a 3:31 gear or somewhere in that range. I'm not drag racing the car, but may autocross a bit. I know that this question has a ton of variables...just wanted to get some input.

I'd end up sleeping on the couch if I tried to give my wife a performance car with an automatic.

I'd go with a higher gear. I have 3.91's and I wish I had more like 4.33's, faster acceleration and deceleration would be nice. On the highway, the OD will take care of cruise.

Running around in second, I want more gear.

Get a paddle shifter, too. Lots mo fun.
