Is anybody having issues with electric life windows going up extremly slow. My buddy has installed 2 motors and they both go up slow. we thought there might be a binding problem but even on a bench test the motors are slow. Electric life will not return because they said everything is tested before it's shipped. I'm getting ready to order a set but I wanted to see if the problem can be solved first. What other options are there for electric windows out there. Gotta give my list to Santa.

We use them on everything and they are actualy fast, what car is your buddy putting them on. They are not as fast as a new GM truck but for a power window in a Camaro or truck they work great. It is possible you have two bad motors or they have been sitting to long.

Do they use off the shelf GM motors?

He has used them in a 69 Camaro, and I know generaly Electric life is a great product' I guess it's possible that he has two bad motors. I'm going to see him over the week end to see how he made out.

Is he getting 12-14 volts at the regulator?
We used EL's kit for the The Mustang Vert and they go up pretty slow. But Lightning fast down. I had to make extra 1/2" thick rubber pads to mount on the bar stops so the glass doesnt shatter.
IRRC, Frank from Prodigy has mentioned on PT.com that EL was in the process of upgrading motors due to some being slow in certain applications.
It's not that they're slow, it's that they have no torque. They need more gear reduction or something. Sure, they go down damn fast, but go up slow and have a hard time getting the last 1/4 inch to get a good seal.
Super easy to install, though.

Nu-Relics sells kits that use US made Delco motors.
