What is the best material to make the rear trunk panels out off and what is the best thickness to use? Also, what is the best way to fasten them to the car? Anybody have any construction pics?

Making them out of particle board or wood is common, and so is fiberboard. Metal generally rattles. Panels can screw into place, wedge or use velcro, or we often use really strong small quarter size or smaller magnets to hold panels together- (special magnets).
Keep things light, without sacrificing durability. I will try to have some photos posted.

Is there a better material to use other that partical board or is this the best choice for panels. Or is there something that can be curved and hold its shape??
I have a car that needs the trunk covered, and the back dash.
What thickness do you recommend?
What about the underside of the trunk lid??
What thickness of foam is used between the panel and the material??
Thanks Again

I would use MDF (stronger and easier to work with than standard particle board. Use 1/4" for side panels and probably 1/2" - 5/8" for anything that will be supporting weight. There was this stuff we used to use back in my car install days called bend-a-board. It looked like plywood and was maybe 1/8-1/4" thick. You could bend it pretty easily and then use some kind of framing to keep the shape. The other way you can go is fiberglass, especially if you want to make something with curves in it. That's quite a bit more work, however.
I would try 1/4" MDF for the underside of the trunk lid. You can cut your basic shape and use some coarse sandpaper to shape the edges.

I use .040 aluminum,Have for years. You can shape it,bend it,And it will keep it's shape.Wood for those type of panels wont last.I make small "L" brackets and fuse them under the trunk edges in several places(no damage done to car)Then we use a spring clip to hold the panel to the bracket. This way you can take the panels in and out and don't have to worry about the panels falling out, rattling, breaking.I also make are interior panels out of the same aluminum.......I know,I know this post needs pics.I will see what I can do for you.

ABS plastic panels ..... they can easily be cut, heated and formed, and will cover well and are flexible to wedge fit.
