I finally got my Auto Meter DPSS shift light installed. I mounted it directly above the column and moved the Wideband O2 gauge down next to the wiper switch. I wasn't excited about cutting a 2" hole for the wideband, but it went without issue.

While I had the dash out, I made a harness that hooks up to the wideband O2 output and hooked it up to my EFI Live and can datalog the AFR. Pretty slick.

The DPSS is programmable (RPM, launch help, and color) and hooks up to the tach for 90 seconds of playback. Here's what it looks like when the shift light comes on (you can set the intensity for day and night)

EFI Live is amazing software and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I got the calc_pid.txt setup for the conversion of the 0-4v output of the Auto Meter wideband to show as AFR, but it took a bit of looking before I realized I had to use the EXT.AD1 PID for it to update/display on the dashboard and data tabs.

Nice setup! Looks like you have a good clear view of the gauges and the shift light is sick!

Very cool...the last thing you want is a big ugly light stuck on top of the dash.

I like your DSE panel setup the best!

Agreed that it looks a lot cleaner mounted in the dash instead of sticking out attached to something. I really like the way it lights up at night.

Love the way it all turned out Scott!!
This might sound weird...but does it come with a cover like the standard shift lights...for street driving?

With the push button menu, you can select from 16 different brightness levels and 7 different colors.

That's a cool new toy Scott!!! I thought about getting one of those, but I'd have no place to put it. I do have a shift light dead center in front of me though, so I'm hoping I'm not missing out too much. The car is never done, is it?

lol, nope, never done. I was worried I was making more work for myself by drilling a 2" hole in the dash for the new location of the wideband... I was hoping that I didn't tear up the paint, and fortunately it went well.

Wow Scott there is no way you should miss a shift with that light! Corey Hart must have been able to see the future when he wrote the song Sunglasses at Night.

That is a nice setup. It looks like you have a lot to keep track of..... I put a DPIC gauge there. It is really easy to glance down while driving.

Mine was cool until it shorted itself out internally, caught fire, and shot smoke at my face while I was driving in the rain.

I had to pull over and rip the DPSS off the column and yank the wires out to keep it from catching fire.

Not fun, I still haven't replaced it.

I haven't set the night time intensity yet, but yep, I'd need some serious shades. LOL

Cool. How do you like the DPIC?

Really? Didn't you have it on a fused circuit?
