Does anybody know where I could find build pics of the "Grumpy" Jenkins tribute camaro built by Roger Burman at Lakeside Rods & Rides. It has to be one of the coolest 67-68 camaro builds I have seen lately. I believe I came across a website a week ago that had build pics, I cannot locate now and could use some help. I have tried the shops website and they do not have any pictures of this car yet.
Thanks,

Yeah, that car does sure look killer!!!
I don't have build pics, but here is a link that has that car and a BUNCH more from the Columbus show. (You just have to go through the pages to find them.)

We (Roadster Shop) built the chassis and did a lot of the early metal work. Lakeside Rods took it from there and finished the car... and did a killer job with the finished product.
Here is a link to our web site with all of the work that we did on the car. There are not any good pictures, but this was the pilot car for our complete Camaro chassis as well.

If you are looking for specific pictures, let me know and I might be able to find something.

Thanks guys. The Roadster Shop was the link I was looking for. What an amazing build. I love to see that people are starting to take the 67-68 camaros to the next level. Here is another link I came across with quite a few pics of the "Grumpy" Jenkins camaro, http://flashesofspeed.smugmug.com/
Does anybody know what size rear tire and wheel is on the Jenkins car? If I were to guess, I would say it is a 335/30/ZR20 Michelin PS2 on a 20x12 wheel.

They are 335/30/ZR20 Michelin PS2 on a 20x12 wheel
This was a pretty cool car. The owner had a lot of unique ideas and his main focus was to do a 67 because there were not too many built to this level.

Does anybody have finished interior pictures? From the rendering by Eric, it looks pretty cool. Another question, is the front and rear glass flush mounted? I cannot tell by the pictures I have seen thus far but looks like they might have custom made a wider flange to flush mount it. Not like what was used on project "Evade".

I don't have any great pictures of how it was done, but basically, we added metal to the window opening so it met the stock glass. We fabbed a 90 degree bend and formed it to the shape of the window opening to take up the space between the glass where the stock molding would go. Then cut a new flange for the glass to mount to. Welded everything up and metal finished it.

That looks great. So if I have it correct, the glass is painted black around the edges and butts up to the added metal with a small gap?

If you are looking for specific build or interior pictures, let us know. The car should be a feature in Camaro Performers in Feb/March 2010. You can also check out this video [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFw0s7BwD_Q"]
Watch CP for a new 67 named "SCAR".

That's a great looking car, but I don't understand how it's in any way a tribute to any of the Grumpy's Toy cars. Bill Jenkins was a killer SBC builder, sticking a BBC in a "tribute" car seems pretty odd.

"Grumpy" raced a 67 Camaro and he built the motor for this one. It is a stroked 572. He also signed the car and the motor. His name and logos are ghosted in the paint.

Not at all.
Jenkins '68 BBC car is one of the most famous ever.
The text below is from this link.

"Re: Grumpy Jenkins 1968 Camaro
That would be a great find as it is one of my all time favorite Camaros ever.
When I spoke to DA Grump about this 68, he said it was one of his favoite cars (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=139965#) and was a big money maker. It always ran strong and was used in many match races.
This car won the first ever Pro Stock race (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=139965#) beating the Sox and Martin Hemi heads up and was used in many "Monster Motor Match Races" in 69-70
here is an old post I wrote on that car.
"If a car can be a hero, then I would say that the 1968 Camaro "Grumpy's Toy IV" Jenkins used to win the first ever Pro Stock race at Pomona in 1970 is a superhero Camaro. The new Pro Stock class was wild and used liberal rules that ran the cars straight up.
Quickest car wins. No staggered Super Stock type starts. No hitting the brakes to avoid a class break-out.
The Hemi cars were going to be tough to beat running heads up. All the big guns showed up. Dyno Don in a SOHC 427 Maverick, Randy Payne in a Boss 429 Maverick, Dandy Dick Landy's Hemi Challengerhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=139965#), Sox and Martin's Hemi Cuda, Wally Booth in his L88 Camaro and Bill Grumpy Jenkins is his little old Aluminum engined 1968 Camaro car number 777.
Some ran trick parts like two plug Hemi heads, prototype sheet metal intakes, duel 1200 cfm Holleys, huge air scoops, and rumors of back door factory support. Some say Jenkins was running a destroked Cam-Am block. He kept a blanket over the motor in the pits. The finial round came down to the Sox and Martin 70 Hemi Cuda Vs Jenkins 68 Camaro. The 90,000 fans were on their feet. Grumpy beat the Hemi winning 9.99 to 10.12. Bill Jenkins became the first NHRA Pro Stock Eliminator and his 68 Camaro was the Chevyhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=139965#) hero of the day. The sheetmetal work in itself is amazing.

Thanks Nick and the staff at Camaro Performers for the honor of being included in the April issue. The Scar and the Grumpy tribute articles were done extremely well. We were really impressed with Josh's pictures of the Grumpy tribute. Thank you very much for letting us be part of your magazine.

Doug,
Thanks for the comment, but unfortunetly my car is not done yet. The picture is a photoshoped one that started out as a Corvette Bronze SS. I probably will not be using Corvette Bronze, I think I have moved onto Teal Blue which was an original 68 color. Here are a few rederings of the car in the identity pic, I have included the original image as well.

If you wanted more info or build pics, you could email Roger direct, his email is on their website. I emailed him about the black 65 Mustang Fastback they built and he was extremely helpful with info and emailed me about 30 build pics. Couldn't have asked for more.
Cheers,
Joe.

Thanks Derek---I vote for the second pic if you want opinions! Listen, if you can get it that low, any one of the looks you've photoshopped there would look fantastic. Keep us posted on the progress---would look amazing if you can pull it off just like the pics---

"Grumpy" was at the World of Wheels in Omaha and Des Moines and rec'd Best Street Machine Comp in both shows.
Chip Foose thought Grumpy was an awesome build. He also got to look at the renderings of "Scar" and we all agreed that we can't wait to see it finished at Columbus.

I had not seen this car until it showed up in Camaro Performers, but the Grumpy Camaro is awesome. You don't see very many people do a build in white, so it's good to see one done in white. I thought it was really cool with the ghosting that was done. 'Course I am a little biased towards white Camaros.
