Which is the best route for me to take. I am leaving from Charlotte NC going to Motor State. Google maps is showing me 2 routes that are the same distance and drive time. One is through Columbus and the other is through Dayton both coming off of I-77 in West Virginia. Does anyone in that area have any suggestions on which would be the easier drive or of known road construction that is not shown?
Thanks

Payton, Ive been on the "breezeway" of both multiple times. The Dayton route IMO your better off with. Depending on timing of course during peak hours.

Payton, I lived in MI before I moved to NC and still go up there a couple of times a year but I'm on the eastern side. I-77 to the Ohio turnpike is pretty easy traveling ,very little traffic. The only city you go through until well into Ohio is Charleston,WV. I can easily make it to the turnpike from Raleigh in 9 hours. I personally hate to travel I-75 in Ohio I used to travel from Detroit to Cinci. for bus. and hated that trip. Watch the po po in VA. on 77. and anywhere in Ohio. :_paranoid

vote is through Dayton as well?
Thanks for the input guys!
I can make it to Stateville, NC in about 1.5 hrs from my house so the travel time should be about the same. Google maps says 12.5 hrs and it will be every bit of that with me pulling a trailer.

I have not tried from here going through Dayton. I have gone to Columbus from here and getting over to Cbus is all back highways through small towns on US 33 off of I-77. It takes me 12 hours from here to 100 miles north of Detroit going 77 to the turnpike it is probably shorter on the map going via Dayton/Cbus but I'm not sure it's any faster time wise. It's 9 hours from here to Cbus.
